We grew a 20' wall of plump juicy blackberries every summer at the home we raised our children in. It always brought me such joy as a mother to see my chlidren splashing and playing in our pool and then hear the patter of wet feet as they and their friends would jump out at the shallow end and pick and eat warm, sun-ripened blackberries to their heart's content. They would then return to the pool their mouths and fingertips stained with the blackberry juice and wild happy grins on their face. They loved to have me blend those berries with cold rich cream and freeze them as popsicles for them as well.
